A listing on a Taiwan-based shop has shown some Sonic Frontiers merch. One is a rough image featuring major Sonic characters including Miles, Knuckles, and new characters that have been labeled with question marks. While Sonic Frontiers will technically be getting a simultaneous global release, it’s staggered slightly across different consoles, but the date to mark is Tuesday, November 8. At least Sonic won’t be alone in the fight as the other credits sequence confirmed that Tails would be in the sequel.

The game is quite fun, and it has one of the best soundtracks we’ve heard in a while. But with a number of nice things, there’s also a plethora of glitches and bugs that are still affecting the game. Today, the Sonic Frontiers Update 1.10 arrived with few but notable fixes. The Dark Pictures Anthology The Devil in Me is the final game for the first season of The Dark Pictures franchise and is a mighty fine way for the series to come to a close. However, given everything else, ranging from production value to soundtrack to story to level design to characters, it is still my favorite mainline Sonic game to this day. I fully understand why someone wouldn’t like it if their primary issue is the glitches, but if that’s the case, again, just get the PlatinumFamily Hits 360 version. There was a time when Sonic was in fact on life support. Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 fooled most people into thinking they were good when they first released, but as time went on more and more people began seeing them for how poor they really were. The series hit rock bottom in 2006 with game simply titled Sonic The Hedgehog, which has come to referred to as Sonic ’06.

• People whine about not being able to move at full speed, but in the larger ones there are grind rails to help you get all over the place, plus you still have the homing attack, which makes getting around really fast.
• A big issue Little Hope suffers from is an unlikable cast of characters.
• Here’s another roguelite deck-building game, but you probably haven’t seen one quite like this.

Plus, the controls aren’t nearly as tight as some other Sonic titles and the amount of space that character sprites take up has been a big hangup critics have had with the game. And while that aspect is more of a nitpick than anything else, it can still be rather distracting. Then I get to the second part of the level where I only have two lives left. I had no idea what I was supposed to do, and the game doesn’t explain what is going on. Basically you are placed in a auto-scroller, Sonic moves all by himself and runs so fast that you can only move him left and right.

After years of thinking about it, I don’t think it’s fair to actually compare Sonic’s gameplay Sonic to those games I just listed. But I can’t really go to bat for these games on a gameplay level with a straight face. Even my favorite Sonic games only have like 2 levels each whose quality and layout I could truly vouch for.

Blood started to come down those blackened eyes of Sonic’s as a grin slowly grew from his face as he looked down at the horrified fox, I could do nothing but watch. Tails looked as though he was scared out of his wits this time. He actually looked at me and made frantic gestures to me as if he wanted to get out of the area he was in as fast as possible.
